Second tier: St Maarten, Antigua, Viareggio, Auckland, Sydney, Dubai, San Diego. Cape Town for cheaper certificates.
Viareggio housing runs on the refit calendar, not the tourist one. Crews for the big Darsena yards, Perini, Overmarine, Benetti, Codecasa, Rossinavi and the other builders lined up along the canal, arrive for weeks or months of refit or delivery work. Almost every option here is priced and structured for a weekly or monthly stay, not a one night booking.
The one real crew house
La Bougainville, Via Giuseppe Verdi 20, is walking distance from the beach and a short hop to the Darsena. It is the name that actually shows up in crew guides and on My Crew Kit. Its own website did not resolve in this sweep and no official per bed rate card could be found. Guest reviews and booking platform listings put rooms anywhere from roughly EUR 58 to USD 119 a night depending on the room and the platform, so confirm the rate direct before you travel.
Two properties on the Passeggiata, Suite Carducci and Hotel Tahiti, market directly to yacht captains, crew and shipyard professionals with corporate and long stay rates rather than a published crew tariff. Book by contacting them directly or through the booking platforms.
La Spezia and Genoa
La Spezia, where the NCA Refit yard sits, has no dedicated crew house that this sweep could find. Crew there use the general rental market in La Spezia and Portovenere.
Genoa, at Sestri Ponente and the Amico yard, runs on agency arranged housing instead of fixed crew houses. Amico's own crew concierge, Genoa Superyacht Hub and Pesto Sea Group all broker villas, flats and apartments near the yard and the marina to a brief, with no public rate card. Email or call and they quote per group.
How crew actually book
Nothing here takes a walk in for a single night in refit season. Crew houses and seafront short lets fill from shipyard word of mouth and returning crew referrals. The safest lead time is a few weeks before a known refit start.
